Week 9
Class 7A
Jevarra Martin (Newton) - With Top 5 ranked Brookwood in town, Martin had a career night for himself! Martin gave the Rams a big region win throwing for 3 touchdowns and over 250 yards in the upset 28-16 win!
Phil Mafah (Grayson) - Mafah continues to make an argument for being the most dominant player in the state. With just 11 carries, he casually rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns in a big 47-7 win over Parkview!
Xavier Williams (Colquitt County) - Williams and the Packers had things rolling against Camden County on Friday night. He had 300 yards of total offense himself, with big scoring runs of over 50 yards in the 34-13 win!
Class 6A
Preston Simmons (Lee County) - Simmons made sure the Trojans weren’t caught looking ahead to a showdown with Valdosta. He took 14 carries for 150+ yards and two touchdowns in the big win over Houston County!
Justin Williams (East Paulding) - The junior running back continues to will the Raiders to victories! He took 27 carries for 208 yards and 4 touchdowns as East Paulding gets the win over crosstown rival Paulding County!
Ashton Evans (Alcovy) - Evans and the Tigers offense was in high gear on Friday night in the 44-14 win over Grovetown. Evans threw for three touchdown passes and ran in for another to give Alcovy the region win!
Class 5A
Jalen Addie (Warner Robins) - The best player in the best game of the state. Addie totaled 300 yards of offense for the Demons, but more importantly led the game winning drive with just 2 minutes remaining against undefeated Ware County!
Cole Spear (Calhoun) - The Yellow Jacket defense shutout Woodland in the 38-0 win and Spear had two interceptions on the night. He took one back for a touchdown, and also had a long TD reception on offense!
Andrew Carner (Jones County) - The Greyhounds and Carner hosted undefeated Ola and came away with a 38-35 win. The senior running back ran for 226 yards and had two long touchdown runs for Jones County!
Class 4A
Terrence Guffie (Stephenson) - The Jaguars have done nothing but win this season, and Guffie rushed a tough 121 yards in the 15-7 win over Mays. He also came up big in running out the clock to keep the ball away from Mays in ending the game!
Avaun Rucker (Riverdale) - The Raiders were looking forward to the region showdown with Fayette County they came away with a big 32-0 win! Rucker kept finding open receivers throughout the night, throwing for two touchdowns and rushing for two more!
Bubba Chandler (North Oconee) - The Titans are getting things going at the right time of year, and Chandler is a big reason for it. On Friday he threw for over 150 yards, rushed for 75, scored three total TD’s in a game that was in hand early for North Oconee!
Class 3A
Will Hardy (GACS) - Hardy and the Spartans bounced back nicely after a tough loss to Cedar Grove. Hardy made some big plays in the 21-12 win over Sandy Creek! He caught two touchdown passes, picked off a pass, and recovered a fumble to preserve the win!
Tay Martin (Thomson) - Martin came up clutch when the Bulldogs needed him most. He led Thomson with his arms and legs all night, but ended the game with 71 yards on 9 rushes for a touchdown to give the Bulldogs a 30-23 win!
Conley Dyer (Dawson County) - The Tigers are on a roll as they have won three straight region games. On Friday, Dyer led a deep rushing attack going for 112 yards and two touchdowns in the 38-21 win over West Hall!
Class 2A
Jalin Shephard (Callaway) - In what was probably their biggest challenge in region, Shephard gave us his best. Taking all three of his catches for touchdowns, and 100+ yards receiving!
Clay Hyatt (Haralson County) - Hyatt is back and rightfully so as he willed the Rebels to a tough triple OT win against Temple. Hyatt ran for 211 yards, four touchdowns on 34 carries to give Haralson County the 31-23 win!
Travion Solomon (Northeast Macon) - Solomon threw for over 300 yards and continually came up big for the Raiders giving them a big lead over Bleckley County. After the Royals stormed back to take the lead he threw 1 of his 5 TD passes to regain the lead in the 37-34 victory!
Class 1A Public
Aaron Collins (Metter) - Collins kept the #1 ranked Tigers undefeated in their 27-7 win over McIntosh County. He took 20 carries for 126 yards and a touchdown to keep Metter undefeated on the year and in the region!
Jakalen Williams (Macon County) - Williams and the Bulldogs offense found their groove on Friday night. Williams threw for over 200 yards and connected on five touchdown passes to give Macon County a 56-6 win over Greenville!
Cody Duffy (Chattahoochee County) - Duffy and the Panthers remained undefeated coming away with a huge region win against Taylor County. Duffy threw for three touchdown passes which gave the Panthers a 25-0 win!
Class 1A Private
Barry Kleinpeter (Savannah Country Day) - Kleinpeter and the Hornets ended Aquinas’s hopes of an undefeated season as he threw for four touchdown passes in accounting for all of SCDS scores. But his biggest throw of the night was a 2pt conversion giving the Hornets the 29-28 win!
Murphy Reeves (Fellowship Christian) - Reeves is making his 2nd helmet sticker appearance of the year, this time going for 165 on just 13 carries and scoring four touchdowns as the Paladins led 49-3 at the half in a 49-13 win over King’s Ridge!
Gage Leonard (Christian Heritage) - Leonard and the Lions got a huge win over Darlington as he scored a touchdown with 4 seconds remaining in the 31-24 win. Leonard had over 100 yards rushing with three total TD’s on the night!
