Week 12 Georgia Preps Players of the Week

Class 7A

Chase Lewis (East Coweta) - Lewis did only what most people dream of on Friday night. Newnan had just drove the field and was an extra point away from tying the game and forcing OT. Lewis, broke the line and blocked the kick to seal the win and region championship for the Indians!

Class 6A

Corbin LaFrance (Kell) - LaFrance and the Longhorn offense was unstoppable on Friday night in the 58-0 win over Lassiter. LaFrance threw for four touchdowns and ran in for another as he has this offense clicking on all cylinders heading into the playoffs! 

Class 5A

Tommy Castellanos (Ware County) - We might have to give him a permanent residence on this list. Castellanos once again had the offense rolling as he went for five total touchdowns leading the Gators to a 42-7 win over Wayne County! 

Class 4A

Kale Gibbs (LaGrange) - Gibbs is back for a 2nd time this season. He has been a force for the Grangers all year long and in the 20-19 win over Hardaway he took 17 carries for 157 yards and scored the game winning TD to give LaGrange home field advantage next week! 

Class 3A

Mason Byron (Monroe Area) - Two weeks in a row for Byron as he and the Purple Hurricanes got the big win! He took the opening kickoff back for a touchdown and later scored the game winning TD with a 1 yard plunge to secure home field advantage next week!

Class 2A

Demetrius Coleman (Callaway) - Coleman and the Cavaliers got the win they needed and wound up as the #1 seed from Region 5. In the win over Heard County, he threw for two touchdowns but had timely completions all night in the 30-17 win!

Class 1A Public 

Dreylan Martin (Commerce) - Facing tough opponents in back to back weeks, and needing to win both for an outright region title, Martin came up clutch. Leading by only 3 he took a handoff into the end zone for the score and a 10 point lead!

Class 1A Private

Zac Dyer (PACS) - Dyer was a favorite target of Brock Vandagriff on Friday night. He hauled in 55,65,14 yard touchdown receptions and helped the Wolverines wrap up a region title in a blowout 55-9 win!
