Week 5 Helmet Stickers Announced
Check out the standout performers from Week 5 games all across the state of Georgia. Vote in the polls below for one player to be named the Player of the Week for their classification. Voting closes every Tuesday at 11:59PM EST.
Class 7A Helmet Stickers
Todd Robinson- Valdosta
Sophomore QB, Todd Robinson, exploded Friday night, turning in, by far his best overall performance on the season. Through the air, Robinson went 8-11 for 134 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also added 131 rushing yards, and 2 touchdowns on 3 attempts, leading his team to a blowout, 56-0, win!
Jayden Dooley- Mountain View
Dooley made it look easy on Friday night, and with it being his first career start, his performance wasn’t the expected outcome. Leading his team to a 55-3 dominating win over Lanier, Dooley was efficient in all facets of the game. He accumulated 281 all purpose yards, 177 through the air, and 104 on the ground. Dooley also found the end zone 5 times, with 4 of the 5 passing, on the night!
Caleb Downs - Mill Creek
In their first game of the year and against a program with multiple state championships in recent year, Downs came up big. The senior finished the night with two rushing touchdowns and set the all time school record with his 17th career interception in the 52-36 win over Cedar Grove!
Class 6A Helmet Stickers
Baxter Wright- Gainesville
Opening up region play, the Red Elephants QB Baxter Wright had a great performance. Gainesville beat Apalachee 53-0 on Friday night, and they were led by Wright the entire way. He went 12-15 passing for 112 yards, and threw for 4 touchdowns in the rout of the Wildcats.
Prentis Noland- Hughes
Hughes won in an onslaught of New Manchester, 65-0. QB Prentis Noland, played a large role in their dominating victory. Spreading the ball around to his playmakers, Noland threw for 5 touchdowns, each to a different receiver. He finished the night 11-14 for 166 yards in the air!
Ousmane Kromah- Lee County
Ousmane Kromah was unstoppable in Lee County’s 51-0 rout of Lake Gibson (FL) Friday night. Up 41-0 at halftime, Kromah, along with the other starters for Lee County didn’t see much playing time in the 2nd half. In the first half, RB Kromah accounted for 4 of the 6 touchdowns scored by the Trojans. Ousmane Kromah had a spectacular performance, in a statement win for Lee County.
Class 5A Helmet Stickers
Travis Terrell- Creekside
In the 35-14 win over Lithia Springs, Creekside’s Travis Terrell did a little bit of everything for the Seminoles. Terrell carried the ball 17 times, tallying 180 yards and a touchdown on the ground. He was effective in the air attack as well, having 6 receptions for 131 yards along with 2 more touchdowns. Terrell finished the night with 311 all purpose yards, and 3 touchdowns for the Creekside Seminoles.
Nate Russell- Cartersville
Freshman QB Nate Russell had an efficient performance Friday night in the Purple Hurricanes 49-0 victory over Heritage-Conyers. Throwing a touchdown to a different receiver each time, Russell tossed for 4 touchdowns, helping Cartersville lead 35-0 at the break. Russell finished the night passing for 11-14, 209 yards, and 4 scores.
Trey Townsend- Calhoun
The Yellow Jackets used Friday night as a statement win over Sonoraville. In the 40-7 victory over the Phoenix, Calhoun’s offense was clicking on all cylinders, and at the center of the success was QB Trey Townsend. The junior QB put on a clinic, passing 21-26 for 331 yards and 3 touchdowns. Townsend, spread the rock around and found a different receiver each time he tossed for a score.
Class 4A Helmet Stickers
Tanner Marsh- North Hall
The North Hall Trojans earned their first victory on the season Friday night, beating East Hall 69-0. A large part of their success came on the back of QB Tanner Marsh. On the night, Marsh passed 10-15 for 192 yards, and 3 touchdowns, but his arm wasn’t the only weapon for the Trojans. Marsh also rushed for 2 touchdowns to help his team taste victory this season!
Armar Gordon- Perry
Armar Gordon has had a great 2022 season thus far for the Perry Panthers. The senior QB has the Panther offense averaging 42.5 points per game, and has led them to a 3-1 start. Friday night was much of the same for Gordon, in the Panther 35-7 win over rival Peach County. Passing 16-27 for 245 yards and 2 touchdowns, Gordon was efficient and controlled the tempo of the game for his Perry Panthers.
Max Wilson - North Oconee
Wilson was incredibly efficient in his work last Friday. The junior QB has the Titans undefeated on the year and only threw one incompletions while throwing for 150+ yards on just 8 passes. He also turned in two TD’s on the ground in the 42-0 win over Madison County.
Class 3A Helmet Stickers
Kenry Wall - Savannah Christian
The sophomore is coming on strong and adding another explosive element to the Raiders offense. He used just 12 carries to rack up 130 yards and two touchdowns in the 45-6 win over rival Savannah Country Day!
Amarion Scott - Johnson (Savannah)
The senior running back has the Atom Smashers on a 2 game win streak and a 1-0 record in region play. Scott had 181 yards on the ground and scored two touchdowns in the 35-17 win over Beach!
Peyton Williams - Ringgold
Williams showed off some versatility on Friday night as he had a big night rushing and receiving. He had 190 yards on the ground and two touchdowns while catching 4 passes for 80 yards in the 42-24 win over Lafayette!
Class 2A Helmet Stickers
Jaquez White - Pierce County
Over 200 yards of total offense on 8 touches? Scoring a touchdown on half of your touches? Thats what White did on Friday night by the way of rushing and receiving in the Bears’ 48-13 win over Charlton County!
Andrew Shockley - Banks County
Shockley has been someone the Leopards have had to lean on in their 4-0 start to the season. The 33-0 win over George Walton Academy was no different as Shockley was explosive running, receiving, and in the return game as her ran a kickoff back for a touchdown!
Demetrius Brown - Fitzgerald
Fitzgerald was ready to take on defending state champion, Madison County (FL). The game was tight throughout the whole contest and Brown picked off two passes to stall Madison County drives and give the Hurricanes a 20-12 win!
Class 1A Helmet Stickers
Konner Leggett - Bryan County
With their leading rusher out for the game, Leggett stepped up in a big way to help fill the void. Leggett carried a heavier load and finished the night with 121 yards on the ground and 3 TD’s in the come from behind win over Portal!
Mason Snyder - Irwin County
Snyder is your big play guy and the Indians needed it on Friday facing 2A power Rockmart. Snyder hauled in five passes for over 150 yards and a touchdown in the 28-14 win!
Eli Thompson - Darlington
Thompson and Darlington took down undefeated NW Whitfield on Friday night with a big offensive performance. Scoring 41 points in the win Thompson did his usual making big plays rushing and receiving but he also threw a TD pass this week in the 41-33 win!
