Dawson County 42-7
Peach County 31-13

GACS defeated:

Franklin County 37-7
North Hall 33-0
Appling County 31-13

Players to Watch:

Oconee County:

QB Jacob Wright, WR Jake Johnson, WR West Weeks, LB Justin Coleman, DB Darius Johnson Jr., DB Elijah Hamm

Greater Atlanta Christian:

QB Deymon Fleming Jr., RB Tre Henry, WR Will Hardy, DT William Calhoun, LB Marcus Wilson, DB Joseph Rose

Noteworthy:

One of the two matchups across the state between two undefeated teams! GACS is one of the state’s most consistent programs, making it to seven of the last nine semi-finals. The Spartans are led by dual threat QB Deymon Fleming Jr, and a number of different playmakers. Defensively, the Spartans don’t give much and have a habit of forcing turnovers. The Warriors also have a little staying power, making their 2nd straight semi-final and looking to get back in the state championship game for the 2nd straight year. It’s tough to find a weakness in this Warriors team, and they have multiple weapons for QB Jacob Wright to use on offense. We expect a physical football game, where a turnover or two might provide the difference on the scoreboard between these two solid teams!

Crisp County Cougars (11-1) at Pierce County Bears (11-1)

How They Got Here:

Crisp County defeated:

Windsor Forest 35-0
Richmond Academy 36-0
Cedar Grove 16-13

Pierce County defeated:

Burke County 58-14
Central (Macon) 42-0
Carver 51-18

Players to Watch:

Crisp County:

QB AJ Lofton, WR Cortez Thomas, OL Mekih Hill, DL Nick Mercer, LB Preston Lavant, LB Christopher “Pooh” Paul Jr.

Pierce County:

QB Jermaine Brewton, RB Donelius Johnson, RB DJ Bell, DL Seth Foster, LB Austin Jernigan, DB Ty Myles

Noteworthy:

The Cougars are fresh off a huge win over two time defending state champion Cedar Grove. Not only that, the Saints ousted the Cougars in last year’s state championship. But, with the road trip to Pierce County the Cougars had better get focused quick. The Bears are averaging over 40pts a game this season, and right at 50ppg in the playoffs. The Cougars defense however is as stingy as they come with multiple shutouts on the year and allowing a high score of 14 in their lone loss on the year. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top in the matchup between the Bear offense and Cougar defense!
