Quarterfinal Round Playoffs

Trench Mob of the Week

Prince Avenue Defense - The Wolverine defense led by BJ Green and Davis Ridings shut down and shut out ELCA for the first time in years. The Chargers could get nothing going against this defense being held to under 150 total yards on the night!

Lee County O-Line - Lee County controlled its game from the start against previously unbeaten RIver Ridge. With a 49-17 lead early in the fourth quarter, this offensive line sent a message to the rest of 6A to expect a physical fight when you face the Trojans!

Crisp County Defense - Cedar Grove has been known for its explosive offense after back-to-back state champions. The Cougar defense held strong all night as they limited the Saints to just 13 points in their 16-13 win!

Class 7A

IJ Mitchell (Lowndes) - The Vikings may have found themselves a closer, for the second week in a row Mitchell has put the dagger in Lowndes’ opponent. This time he made it a two score game with under 4 minutes to play in the 23-13 win over previously undefeated Milton!

Derrell Farrar (Grayson) - It’s time we start giving the Rams’ defense its due. On Friday Farrar and the defense had its 3rd shutout in 4 games, and he recovered a fumble and took an interception back for a score in the 33-0 win over West Forsyth.

Travis Hunter Jr. (Collins Hill) - Hunter Jr. is back again and this time with a little bit of everything. He had double digit catches for over 100 yards, recovered a fumble, and took an interception back for a TD, leading the Eagles to a 21-14 win over Parkview!

Class 6A

Caleb McDowell (Lee County) - This might sound familiar, McDowell rushed for FIVE touchdowns on just 11 carries in the 49-31 win over River Ridge. McDowell has scored more touchdowns in the playoffs than most did in the regular season!

Amari Jones (Valdosta) - The junior QB put the Wildcats back in the semi’s for the first time since 2016. He rushed for two scores, including the go ahead touchdown in the 36-15 come from behind win over Carrollton!

Victor Venn (Buford) - The Wolves vaunted rushing attack struck again, this time controlling the game in a 44-15 win over Langston Hughes .Venn led the attack with a touchdown, but more impressive a 15 yard rushing average on 10 carries!

Class 5A

Quante Jennings (Cartersville) - Back to back weeks and no doubt well deserved! In an absolute classic of a game against Ware County, Jennings continually had an answer in a game that had 6 lead changes. He scored 3 TD’s leading Cartersville to the 34-31 win!

Jalen Addie (Warner Robins) - Making their fourth straight semi-final, Addies and the Demons are on a mission to finish the job this year. In the #1 seed showdown with Blessed Trinity, Addie had almost 300 yards of total offense himself, and scored 3 TD’s for the 35-28 win!

Noah Saylor (Coffee) - The Coffee Trojans don’t mind being a #3 seed and going on the road to get their wins. Saylor, a senior kicker was perfect on XP’s and nailed two kicks including one from 49 yards as the Trojans went up to north GA and got a 27-17 win over Calhoun!

Class 4A

Malaki Starks (Jefferson) - Starks and the Dragons just keep on winning. Undefeated on the season, Starks churned in three of the four Jefferson touchdowns as they held on to beat Carver 28-22!

LeShon Brooks Jr. (Benedictine) - Brooks and the Cadet offense have hit their stride here lately. The senior RB did his part on Friday night, he carried the ball 17 times for close to 150 yards and two scores in the 48-13 win over Riverdale!

Rashad Broadnax (Bainbridge) - The senior running back made some big time plays for their Bearcats on Friday. None bigger than igniting the offense to 21 unanswered points with his touchdown reception as he just reached the ball over the goal line in the 21-10 win for Bainbridge!

Class 3A

Christopher Paul Jr. (Crisp County) Taking down the two time defending state champions takes some big time play. On a fourth and 1, Paul Jr. took the biggest handoff of the night in for the 1 yard score to put the Cougars up 16-7 as they held on for the 16-13 win over Cedar Grove!

Jermaine Brewton (Pierce County) - Brewton and the Bears offense scored over 50 points on Friday night. The senior QB only threw one incompletion, as he rushed for four touchdowns and threw for another in the 51-13 win over Carver!

Deymon Fleming (Greater Atlanta Christian) - Fleming has been on our list multiple times this season and rightfully so. He has the Spartans back in the semi-finals as he paced them to a 31-13 win over Appling County throwing and running for a score himself!

Class 2A

Mario Clark (Fitzgerald) - Clark is back again as well as he rushed for FOUR touchdowns in the 48-14 win over Fannin County. He left little hope for the Rebels as he scored three of his four TD’s in the second half!

Gunner Stockton (Rabun County) - The Wildcats were tested big time against Bleckley County in their 27-24 OT win on Friday. Stockton had answers all night long as he had a hand in all four touchdowns including the a 2 yard run for the game winning score!

Charlie Dixon (Callaway) - The senior running back doesn’t seem to want the Cavaliers’ season to end. Running for almost 250 yards and three scores in the 34-21 win over Thomasville was his latest effort to keep the Cavaliers advancing in these playoffs!

Class 1A Public

Taj Hobbs (Metter) - The senior QB/DB is not afraid of physical play, he showed that on a big time scoring run in the first half as well as making numerous big hits in the run game as Metter beat Warren County 28-6!

Omari Arnold (Brooks County) - The junior running back decided to get the party started early on Friday, he had two first half rushing touchdowns as Brooks County raced to a 26-0 lead in their 47-7 quarterfinal win over Washington-Wilkes!

Kam Ward (Irwin County) - Big time players come up big in big time games. While Ward only found the end zone once, he powered the Indians offense all night long as he rushed for 225 yards in the 25-21 win over Commerce!

Class 1A Private

David Dallas (Trinity Christian) - Back for the second week in a row, and this Lions offense has really found its groove. Dallas and the Lions raced out to a 14-0 lead over Fellowship Christian as he threw for 3 more touchdowns this week in the 41-27 win!

Ryan Rose (Wesleyan) - Wesleyan led comfortably for most of the game on Friday, but then Savannah Christian stormed back to take the lead late in the 4th quarter. Rose, a senior QB did not panic but led a TD drive with less than 2 minutes remaining for the 21-17 win!
