Trench Mob of the Week
Carrollton O-Line - The Trojan O-Line proved to be a difference make in their big second round win.The line paved the way for two running backs to find the end zone twice in the 39-13 win over Sprayberry!
Calhoun O-Line - These guys are back for the second week in a row with an encore performance. In a tight game with Clarke Central the run game exploded in the 2nd half giving way to a 33-14 victory for the Jackets!
Cedartown O-Line - Over 300 yards rushing, and at least five rushing touchdowns by our cound gave the Bulldogs a 56-0 win over North Oconee. No doubt the big fellas up front made way for this explosive offensive performance!
Class 7A
Adam Freas (Milton) - Typically a WR, Freas who was filling in for starting QB Devin Farrell showed great poise in leading Milton to a comeback win over a tough Archer team. With a one point lead, Freas turned in a 5 yard QB keeper to give Milton the 17-9 win!
Coliin Houck (Parkview) - A week after a dominating performance from the Panther’s ground game, Houck showed Parkview can do it through the air as well. He finished 15 for 18, 170+ yards, and four touchdowns in the 41-14 rout of East Coweta!
Dalton Tjong (West Forsyth) - The Wolverines faced a tough task in the 2nd round hosting North Gwinnett. Tjong took a kickoff 97 yards for the touchdown to give West Forsyth the momentum they needed in the 17-16 win!
Class 6A
Amehre Morrison (River Ridge) - The Knights record setting season continues and Morrison has had a huge part in it. In the 42-10 win over traditional power Rome, he had over 170 yards of total offense and found the end zone three times!
Terrance Love (Langston Hughes) - Hughes is on a roll right now, and Love came up with some big time plays in round two. The sophomore had a rushing touchdown and fumble returned for a TD in the 35-0 win over Glynn Academy!
Jayden Ponder (Allatoona) - Jayden Ponder called game at halftime for the Bucaneeers in their second round win. The sophomore scored three rushing touchdowns in the first half as Allatoona rolled to a 31-6 win over Dacula!
Class 5A
Quante Jennings (Cartersville) - The senior running back took a huge workload in the second half to give the Canes a 31-19 win over St. Pius. He rushed for over 150 yards and three touchdowns on the night!
Jerrian Hames (Calhoun) - The senior running back was a huge part in the Yellow Jackets road win over Clarke Central. He carried the ball close to 30 times for 140 yards and two touchdowns in the 33-14 win!
Ahmad Walker (Warner Robins) - The RB/LB combo led the Demons to a big time 30-7 win over Woodward Academy. On defense, the Demons held one of the states top RB’s in check, and on offense Walker found the end zone twice!
Class 4A
Avaun Rucker (Riverdale) - Rucker is back for another Helmet Sticker as he and the Raiders won big over NW Whitfield 42-17. Rucker led the offense to an impressive output as well as throwing for 2 TD’s and rushing for 2 TD’s in the win!
Malaki Starks (Jefferson) - This Jefferson offense has yet to see a defense that they didn’t like. Starks has been explosive all season, and on Friday he started things off with a TD and ended things for Jefferson with a TD in their 35-0 win!
Holden Geriner (Benedictine) - Geriner and the Cadets were in a close one with Cairo until they pulled away in the second half. Geriner’s big night included three second half TD passes and a rushing TD in the 45-23 win!
Class 3A
Marcus Wilson (Greater Atlanta Christian) - The senior OLB leads a defense that has been stifling for the majority of the season. On Friday they held North Hall scoreless. In addition Wilson scored 2 rushing TD’s for GACS in the 33-0 win!
Rashod Dubinion (Cedar Grove) - What a game and what a finish! The junior RB carried the ball 30+ times for over 170 yards and two overtime touchdowns including the game winner as Cedar Grove beat Rockmart 30-27 in 3 OT’s!
Ahmad Brown (Crisp County) - The sophomore led the Cougars to a big win over Richmond Academy. He threw for two touchdowns on a rain soaked field to give Crisp County the 36-0 win!
Class 2A
Cam Smith (Callaway) - The junior cornerback may have just had his coming out party in a tight 17-9 win over Lovett. Smith came up with two bigtime interceptions to stop scoring opportunities and preserve the win for the Cavaliers!
Ronnie Baker (Thomasville) - Baker and the Bulldogs got started early in the win over Dodge County. Baker rushed for two scores and threw for another as they led 31-7 at the half before closing out a 44-7 win!
Adriel Clark (Rabun County) - Clark is back for the second time this season and he is a huge part of the explosive Wildcat offense. On Friday he hauled in three touchdown receptions in the 35-0 win over Model!
Class 1A Public
Sammy Brown (Commerce) - Brown came up big in the 2nd half as he hauled in a 4th down touchdown pass to break open the 14-14 tie. He then scored on an 11 yard run to seal the 27-14 win over Gordon Lee!
Jamal Sanders (Brooks County) - Sweet revenge as Brooks County took down Dublin who ousted them in last years state championship game. Sanders had a big part in the 41-7 win as he rushed for three touchdowns in the 2nd half! @jamal_sanders1
Tyler Morehead (Clinch County) - Morehead has Clinch County running through the playoffs with back to back upset. He got things started quickly for the Panthers’ offense in the 14-6 win over Pelham! @1geemoney5
Class 1A Private
David Dallas (Trinity Christian) - Dallas made sure to see Trinity Christian through to the quarterfinals for the first time in their short GHSA history. He threw for three touchdown passes and ran for two more in the 54-13 win!
Brooks Sturgeon (Wesleyan) - Another round of the playoffs and another walk off kick to win the game. After a back and forth game, Sturgeon knocked through the 42 yard game winning field goal to give the Wolves a 20-17 win!
Davis Ridings (Prince Avenue) - The senior linebacker and his defense gave the Prince Avenue offense plenty of time to get rolling. Ridings netted SIX tackles for a loss, and a QB pressure as the Wolverines only allowed six points to Darlington in their 42-6 win!
