The Corky Kell Classic always seems to deliver some big time moments to kick off the high school football season. This game featured two of the states traditional powers with a North GA vs South GA flare. The game did not disappoint as Walton looked to have control of the game early with a 14-0 lead. However, behind the play of QB Jacurri Brown, Lowndes would tie the score back up at 14 midway through the third quarter. Walton once again would answer and throw seemingly the knockout punch scoring 14 unanswered points and holding a 14 point lead with less than two minutes remaining. However, the Brown would have answers once again as the Vikings scored twice in under two minutes to tie up the game. Senior Chase Belcher hauled in a pass from Brown as time expired and barely tapped two feet in for the touchdown. OT would see the Raiders defense hold and then lean on their running game and Sutton Smith would finish the drive with a touchdown from just under 5 yards out!
