Week 8 Helmet Stickers Announced
Check out the standout performers from Week 8 games all across the state of Georgia. Vote in the polls below for one player to be named the Player of the Week for their classification. Voting closes every Wednesday at 11:59PM EST.
Class 7A Helmet Stickers
Bryce Hicks- Carrollton
Hicks showed out in the 38-28 win over East Coweta. He carried the ball 31 times for 183 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching seven passes for 42 yards and another touchdown. Hicks finished the night with 225 total yards, and three touchdowns!
Nick Grimstead- North Cobb
Grimstead, stepping in for the injured Malachi Singleton, is making the most of his opportunity. He led North Cobb to a 33-6 victory over Walton, and went 6-8 passing for 186 yards and three touchdowns. The signal caller played his part and now has North Cobb sitting at 4-2 walking into a contest with Wheeler this upcoming week.
Cayman Prangley- Kennesaw Mountain
Prangley has led Kennesaw Mountain to a 6-0 record thus far in the 2022 campaign, with the most recent victory coming against Osborne, which they won 49-0. Prangley went 15-20 passing for 295 yards and four touchdowns in the contest, and will look to continue his high level of play as Kennesaw Mountain will face Walton this upcoming Friday.
Class 6A Helmet Stickers
Nykahi Davenport- Roswell
Roswell won 58-0 over Lassiter last week, and Davenport played a huge part in his team’s success. Davenport carried the ball six times for 192 yards and three touchdowns, and he also caught a 24 yard pass that went for a score as well.
Defense- Rome Wolves
The Rome Wolves handled Seqyuoyah 52-0 Friday night, and the Wolves defensive unit was lights out. They held Sequoyah to 13 total yards of offense in the contest, and 0 first downs! The defense makes it tough sledding for any opponent, and proved that to be true last week!
Ricky Fulton- Thomas County Central
Thomas County Central scored the final five touchdowns Friday night against Tift County, and ended up winning the game 42-7. Ricky Fulton found the endzone twice in the contest, totaling 103 yards from scrimmage on 16 touches!
Class 5A Helmet Stickers
Nick Dowdell- Loganville
Dowdell helped his team defeat Clarke Central 28-22 last week, and now has Loganville sitting at 8-0 on the year. Dowdell caught 7 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. He will look to continue his success as Loganville heads to Jefferson this upcoming Friday.
Paul Gamble- Cartersville
Gambel led his team to a 35-13 over Cass last week, and put together an efficient performance. Gamble went 10-13 passing for 171 yards and two touchdowns, he also added 91 yards rushing to his resume!
Rasean Dinkins- Warner Robins
Defense wins championships! Warner Robins handled Groves 30-7 Friday night, and their defense, featuring Rasean Dinkins, has a lot to do with the outcome. Dinkins intercepted two passes in the contest and set his offense up for success with each forced turnover!
Class 4A Helmet Stickers
Luke Kromenhoek- Benedictine
Benedictine defeated Burke County 28-3, and now sits at 4-2 this season. Kromenhoek had a great contest in the victory, he went 12-20 137 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for two scores as well, finding the endzone four separate times.
Bo Smith- Bainbridge
Bo Smith went 9-13 passing for 219 yards and five touchdowns in the 59-7 victory over Westover. Smith has Bainbridge ranked in the top 10 and will face Shaw this upcoming Friday.
Henry Brodnax- Trinity Christian
Trinity Christian came back from a 23-7 deficit to defeat Whitewater 27-23 Friday night. Henry went 19-32 passing for 366 yards and three touchdowns in the comeback win, and now has his team ranked in the top 10 as they welcome LaGrange this week!
Class 3A Helmet Stickers
Jake Merklinger- Calvary Day
Calvary Day defeated Groves 49-8 last week, and they received a stellar performance from Jake Merklinger. He was an efficient 8-9 passing for 112 yards but half of those completions went for four touchdowns in the blowout win!
Cam’ron Lacy- Stephens County
Stephens County had no problem with Franklin County last week, winning 63-0, and though a couple of performances were worthy of helmet stickers, Cam’ron Lacy stood out above the rest. Lacy found the endzone twice in the win, one coming by a reception and the other coming on a punt return that he housed!
Jacob Stallworth- Doughtery
It seems like every week someone from Dougherty turns in a helmet sticker worthy contest, and this week Jacob Stallworth is that player. Stallworth, in the 54-24 win over Columbus, ran for 101 yards and scored three touchdowns. He was unstoppable in the ground game, and was a major key to the success found for Doughtery last week!
