Georgia Preps Helmet Stickers for Semifinal Round of Playoffs Announced

*These will be our last Helmet Stickers polls of the 2020 season with only the state championships remaining. Vote in our twitter polls for which one of these Helmet Stickers will be the Player of the Week! Polls end Tuesday at midnight.

Trench Mob of the Week

Grayson Defense - The Rams defense has been as dominant as they come. On Friday night against Norcross they held the Blue Devils to 41 yards of total offense in the first half, and got their second consecutive shutout in the playoffs in the 28-0 win!

 

Marist Offensive Line - The big fellas up front for the War Eagles made a way for whoever was carrying the rock behind them. Marist scored SIX rushing touchdowns on Friday night in their impressive 42-0 win over Bainbridge.

 

Fitzgerald Defense - The Purple Hurricanes defense came away with a shutout in the 24-0 win over Jefferson County. They forced three turnovers, scored a TD, and kept stud QB Aquavious Hunter in check all night on their way to the state championship game! 

Class 6A/7A

Travis Hunter Jr. (Collins Hill) - Hunter Jr. is getting better and better the deeper we go into the playoffs. This time he caught 10+ passes for over 180 yards, and three touchdowns. Then on defense he collected another INT in the 31-14 win! 

 

Caleb McDowell (Lee County) - Another week of the playoffs and another multiple touchdown game for McDowell. This time he totaled four, running for three and catching another in the 35-14 win over Westlake.

 

Jake Garcia (Grayson) - In a battle of unbeatens against Norcross, and against a tough Blue Devil defense Garcia came up big. He threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns as the Rams made a statement in the 28-0 win! 

 

Class 4A/5A

Malaki Starks (Jefferson) - What a performance! In a 42-35 win, Starks rushed for over 300 yards, and four touchdowns on the ground. He threw for a touchdown and picked off the pass in the endzone to preserve the Dragon’s win! 

 

Jalen Addie (Warner Robins) - Addie gave a us a performance for the ages! In the 56-21 win over Jones County, he put up video game numbers throwing for 300 yards and six touchdown passes, ran for 200 yards and another score!

Evan Slocum (Cartersville) - Slocum got the bulk of carries filling in for star RB Quante Jennings. He came just shy of 100 yards on the ground, but scored the biggest TD of the night on a 40 yard screen pass for the go ahead score in the 24-17 win over Coffee! 

 

Class 3A/2A 

Justin Coleman (Oconee County) - The senior RB/LB came up with big play after big play on Friday night. Converting a must have 4th and 16 down to the inch line before punching in the game winning score for his second TD of the night in the 21-20 2OT win! 

 

Austin Jernigan (Pierce County) - Perhaps the biggest play in the state on Friday! With the Bears trailing by one and under 2 minutes to go, Jernigan recovered a fumble and took it back for the game winning score in the win over Crisp County! 

 

Charlie Dixon (Callaway) - Dixon has had an incredible season, and seems to be playing his best football right now. He ran for well over 100 yards on Friday night and another three touchdowns in the Cavaliers 41-17 win over a quality Rabun County team!

 

Class 1A Public/Private

Danny Baird (Trinity Christian) - A different playmaker for the Lions with each week. This time Baird caught two touchdown passes and had two interceptions on defense as Trinity Christian beat Calvary Day 17-7! 

 

Zac Dyer (Prince Avenue) - QB Brock Vandagriff spreads it around to the wealth of talented option at Prince, on Friday Dyer had almost 150 yards receiving and a touchdown in the 50-3 win over Wesleyan! 

 

Kam Ward (Irwin County) - Ward and the Indians find themselves right back in the state championship game behind his 160 yards rushing, 2 TD’s, and linebacker play in a dominant 44-10 win over previously unbeaten Metter!
