Noteworthy:
A matchup with one of the state’s most storied programs and one with a ton of recent success. Valdosta has 24 state championships, while Buford has won 11 state titles since the year 2000! Buford is playing its’ first year in 6A, and so it will be the first time these programs have met in the playoffs! Buford has so many weapons that it’s difficult to come up with a game plan to slow down their offense and their defense has been lights out this season. Valdosta can get it going and in a hurry. Last week the Wildcats reeled off 22 points in the second half to beat Carrollton 35-16. Amari Jones has led an explosive offense all year, and he can do it on the ground or through the air with some big play receivers.

Noteworthy:
Another incredible 6A semi-final matchup. Lee County is no stranger to this success, but they surely won’t be satisfied just getting here as they’d love to add another state championship to their collection! The Trojans run game has been very impressive this postseason, and do it all RB Caleb McDowell has scored 5 touchdowns in a game twice already during these playoffs! Westlake counters with a potent offense of their own, as last week was the first time they hadn’t scored over 40 points in months, however they led comfortably for a good portion of the game. There is no doubt we will see some big plays in this one!
