Class 7A Player of the Week

Dwight Phillips Jr. -Pebblebrook - Running Back

Filling in for an injured backfield, the sophomore had himself quite the night. Phillips Jr. rushed for almost 240 yards on just 13 carries. He scored two touchdowns on the night on two long runs showing off his breakaway speed. Pebblebrook defeated perennial Region 2 power, East Coweta 38-21. Look for Phillips to play a big role for Pebblebrook as they continue their quest for an undefeated regular season.


Class 6A Player of the Week

Tristan Summers- Creekview - Wide Receiver

A big night for the senior wide receiver as summers helped the Grizzlies knock off the defending region champions, River Ridge. He hauled in two touchdown passes and threw for another in the 38-17 victory. Summers and Creekview now look ahead to a big region matchup with Riverwood this week!


Class 5A Player of the Week

John Alan Richter - Jones County - Quarterback

Jones County avoided the upset in a thrilling 48-42 win against Ola. Richter came up with some big plays as well as throwing for over 300 yards and two touchdowns. After throwing for a TD to get within two with .17 seconds left, he hauled in the reception for the two point conversion to send the game into overtime!


Class 4A Player of the Week

Justin Thomas - Benedictine - Running Back

Benedictine remained undefeated in GHSA play with a 49-6 win over Jenkins where the game was never in doubt. Thomas showed off his explosive play ability being the receiving end of two long passes from Holden Geriner, and then rushed for two touchdowns giving him four on the night.


Class 3A Player of the Week

Tyler Griffin - Southeast Bulloch - Athlete

Griffin led the Yellow Jackets to bounce back from a loss a week ago in a blowout win over Savannah. He showed big play ability on multiple fronts as he returned a punt for a touchdown and had over 100 yards rushing with at least one touchdown.


Class 2A Player of the Week

Shannen White - Thomasville- Quarterback

After winning all but one game in a stacked non region schedule, the Bulldogs racked up their second region blowout win in a row. This time a 42-7 win over Worth County. The senior quarterback led the Thomasville offense to a 35-0 halftime lead and threw for three touchdowns himself. 


Class 1A Public Player of the Week

Tanner Langley - Bowdon - Quarterback/Defensive End

Langley was an impact player on both sides of the ball on Friday night as the Red Devils came away with a 21-7 win over North Cobb Christian. On defense Langley registered two sacks on the night, and offensively he had two rushing touchdowns with the second coming from 50 yards out.


Class 1A Private Player of the Week

David Dallas - Trinity Christian - Quarterback

Par for the course with this Trinity Christian offense as they put up sixty three points in the win over Whitefield Academy. Dallas continues to impress as he threw for four touchdowns on the night. Through seven games, Dallas has led this offense to average an absurd 53 points per game.
